As a company comprised of musicians, event organisers and of course vinyl enthusiasts, we know it’s not easy to survive as a relative newcomer to the music industry. It feels great to collaborate with such a like-minded organisation to offer something substantial that the winner really stands to benefit from.

Pressing of the Month
This month we're shining the spotlight on Invada Records and their latest pressing of the ever-popular Netflix binge series offering, Stranger Things.

Everything about this double LP is stunning, from the incredible illustrated art of Kyle Lambert to the webstore exclusive colour effect, and let's not forget the soundtrack itself either. We're feeling incredibly proud to have pressed this one.

Invada Records are an independent record company founded by musician and producer Geoff Barrow of Portishead fame, and promoter and venue owner Paul Horlick, who ran a variety of influential labels throughout the last thirty years. With soundtrack releases for the likes of Black Mirror (the San Junipero music is well worth a listen), Drive (think Ryan Gosling) and Ex-Machina, the Bristol-based heavyweights seem to go from strength to strength, and are never far from a jaw-dropping new vinyl colour effect.

DMS sponsor Indie-Con 2018
|
|
|
Last month a delegation of independent artists, labels and other such folk converged on Glazier's Hall in London for a series of panels exploring some of the key issues and progressions facing the UK music scene. Indie-Con, an established creation of the Association of Independent Music, was undoubtedly a great success.

As title sponsor of the event, we thought we'd do something a little different. As the only record manufacturer in the Southwest of England, we have a rich history of supporting local creative community ventures, educational projects, grassroots music venues and emerging artists and labels. So it made perfect sense to present every delegate with a taste of our corner of the nation in the way we know best - a handpicked selection of our finest emerging acts lovingly pressed to a beautiful vinyl record. We had less than eight weeks to turn this around in time for the event, but fortunately we knew of a record manufacturer that had no problem managing that... 😉

It was a pleasure to work alongside the AIM family once again, a small and committed team who punch impressively high above their weight and are totally dedicated to their cause - namely championing independent music and driving for positive change across the music industry. The entire event was filmed, including Tom's welcome speech and Sam's panel on the vinyl revival that's overtaking the nation. If you're an AIM member, you can watch the entire day's sessions and panels here. If you're not then we recommend a look into whether it's worth becoming one.

We've been working hard behind the scenes to make your browsing experience even more of a delight. You can now compare multiple products quickly, calculate prices for common additions like vinyl colour effects and printed inner sleeves, and browse our galleries for inspiration, making that choice of product and spec a comparative breeze to make. We're constantly making improvements too, and as always you can drop us a line any time.
